P90X Workout

The infamous p90x workout: a training cycle worth investing in?

The widely raved p90x workout has been a life changing solution for many, but what happens after? A 90 day intensive workout program is broken down into several training phases, all of which can be done at home, in front of instructional DVD’s. The program is designed to target all major muscles, burn fat, and build muscle. That’s a tall order when it comes to working out with no gym equipment at your disposal…

The p90x system is meant to be a home solution to those who cannot afford to get to the gym, or who don’t like the gym, don’t find it helpful, etc. There are a couple of things to be aware of when it comes to purchasing the p90x workout. It does require extra investments into a few vital pieces of equipment, if you don’ t already have them. In addition to the DVD program, you’ll need a door mounted pull up bar (will multiple handles), a floor workout mat, and a couple of sets of dumbells of different weights. While the p90x workout program calls for a minimum of one set, you’ll find that they are not enough to promote adaptation and improvement after 4-6 weeks of training, so you’ll need additional weights.

The p90x workout system has been a success for so many. If you don’t want to workout in public, this is ideal for you. However, you’ll need to have the kind of iron-willed discipline essential to stick with a very tough workout. There’ll be no trainer forcing you to get your butt started, no one nagging you about making time for the workout, and no one pushing you to stop slacking once started. You’ll need to have the motivation to believe in yourself and the workouts. The workout is a series of 12 DVD’s, each with a different focus- legs, arms, back, cardio, yoga and stretching, resistance training, etc. The package includes a few freebees, like a tracker, and measuring tape to measure results.

Essential to achieving results is the parallel side of working out: eating well. The program recommends healthy eating while on the program to promote optimal weight loss, and full recovery. Your body is like an engine, and it won’t run on salt water- you’ll need clean fuel in your tank to meet the energy and muscular demands put on your body.

The trainer and designer of the p90x workout is Tony Horton. He is the group leader in all the video’s and the man you’ll look to for proper technique and encouragement throughout the program. Your success with this system is very possible; as long as you are able to put in to it what you want to get from it. Why spend your money on something if you can’t put your heart into it and really push yourself to achieve the kind of results you deserve? The p90x workout is a proven system for many dedicated individuals, and that’s just what you’ll need: dedication.
